OneWireViewer is a graphical utility from Maxim Integrated (formerly Dallas Semiconductor) for exploring, monitoring, and exercising 1-Wire and iButton devices on a live bus. Designed for prototyping, debugging, and demonstrations, it provides an intuitive interface to discover devices, view their unique 64-bit addresses and family types, read live sensor data, and interact with device-specific features.

Key capabilities:

  • Discovers and enumerates 1-Wire devices on the network in real time
  • Displays device identity, status, and supported functions by family
  • Reads and writes supported device memory and configuration fields
  • Monitors sensors such as temperature devices with live updates
  • Controls and tests PIO/switch devices where applicable
  • Manages supported iButton data loggers (for example, starting/stopping missions and downloading logs)
  • Built on Maxim’s 1-Wire API, with a modular interface tailored to device families

OneWireViewer works with compatible Maxim 1-Wire adapters (USB or serial) and the appropriate driver stack. Its Java-based design enables use across common desktop platforms when the required adapter drivers are installed.

Note: Available features depend on the connected adapter and the capabilities of each 1-Wire device family.

OneWireViewer is developed by Maxim/DalSemi. The most popular version of this product among our users is 0.3. The name of the program executable file is OneWireViewer.exe.
